Introduction to Sensitivity Specialization

Context is the instrument of care.

Offering

This cycle introduces the principles, tools, and ethical framework of Sensitivity Specialization: the practice brought in when material touches trauma, ancestral memory, race, spirituality, ritual, or identity in ways that could harm performers, crew, or the story. Participants learn the difference between intimacy work and sensitivity work, how to assess when a specialist is needed, and the foundations of cultural accuracy, psychological safety, ritual integrity, and repair. This is the classroom where the scope of the practice is made visible.

Audience

Directors, producers, dramaturgs, artistic directors, performers, educators, and practitioners working across theatre, film, and creative environments. No prior experience required.

Form

60 minutes. Live (in-person or Zoom) or asynchronous.
